For almost two decades, Donna has been inspiring audiences and leading teams to roll out the red carpet for their customers. She’s the author of two books, including 501 Ways to Roll Out the Red Carpet for Your Customers: Easy-to-Implement Ideas to Inspire Loyalty, Get New Customers, and Leave a Lasting Impression (Career Press, 2015), and The Celebrity Experience: Insider Secrets to Delivering Red Carpet Customer Service (Wiley, 2008). As the Founder and CEO of Red Carpet Learning Systems, Inc., Donna has built a team of experts who help clients increase employee engagement, improve internal communication, get better customer service scores, and earn sales through the customer experience. She’s an active member of the National Speakers Association, and a Certified Speaking Professional (CSP); a designation held by less than 10% of professional speakers worldwide. When not on stage, Donna can be found in her home of Asheville, NC with her husband Jim and their rescue dogs, Moxie and Tonks. Chris is our first STAR Trainer, outside of Donna, and leads the other STAR Trainers as they join our team. Our customers LOVE her upbeat, positive and fun speaking style combined with exceptional content and experience.
With over 15 years of experience in Learning & Development, she has become a trusted advisor specializing in all levels of relationship management, leadership development, team development, design, and facilitation of organizational learning and development initiatives. She’s got a proven track record of developing & implementing innovative tools and solutions during transformative change. Best of all, she brings the same energy and fun to her training as you’ve come to expect from our Founder! Chris’ talent development team won the prestigious ATD (Association for Talent Development) 2014 Best Learning Organization Award. Chris is an international speaker on culture and change. So happy to have Beth Johnson on board as our Director of Delight! When you work with us at Red Carpet Learning Systems, Beth is the person who will work with you to handle all the logistics and ensure everything happens seamlessly! She makes it her mission to make sure our clients are informed, genuinely cared about and feel like part of the family. She also manages Donna’s schedule and correspondence, as well as the schedules for all of our Red Carpet Master Trainers. Beth one of the people we go to when we want to get stuff done!
She comes to us with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Clemson University, and a Masters of Arts in Education with a concentration in Learning and Curriculum. Beth has 15 years of experience in marketing, customer service and account management. In her last job, she managed the office and schedule for 90 sales people, which makes her the perfect person to help us as our company grows exponentially!
In a past life, Beth wrote a popular cooking blog. She is also a skilled photographer and we’ve roped her into lending her creative talents to us as well! When she’s not delighting Red-Carpet Learning Systems clients, she enjoys camping, photographing families, and hanging out with her husband, their two adorable children, and their pups!
We lucked out when Brandi Hand joined our team. Her positive attitude and exceptional skills make her perfect for the role she plays at Red Carpet Learning Systems! She’s responsible for all things related to getting the word out about the work we do. She’s our main public relations contact, and assists us with social media, website updates, writing, and all things related to spreading the word about #theRedCarpetWay. Brandi is a born communicator so it is natural that she landed in a profession that allows her to connect with thousands of people every day. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications, with concentration in Public Relations and a minor in History, from Louisiana State University.
Brandi has worked in communications on local, national, and international levels. Her past experience includes work with the NFL, the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Louisiana Tennis Association, the Asheville Humane Society, and many other businesses and non-proﬁts.

David Mendes: Maestro of Imagination and Organization
We were so excited when David Mendes agreed to officially join the Red Carpet Team! David has been working with us on and off on a project basis for several years, conceptualizing, scripting, casting and directing customer and red carpet videos. He helped Donna create the movie montage she sometimes does at the end of her keynotes, and you may have even seen him on stage with Donna in select situations! As our Maestro of Imagination and Organization, David is both our idea guy and the one who keeps us efficient! He works on product development, team systems, video production, and more. David developed our first “cast manual” and also blogs for us on various topics. He’s our Left Brain AND our Right Brain!
David is a member of the Actor’s Equity association and has been seen on stage with such greats as Patty Lupone and Audra McDonald, among others. He was in the national tour of the music Barnum in the title role, has extensive acting credits, and has worked as a casting director for tv shows, movies and commercials big & small. In addition, David has written training curriculum and led teams of people in event management, food service and fitness clubs. We often ask in the red carpet office “Is there anything David can’t do?” If there is, we haven’t found out it yet!
Moxie and Tonks: Chief Morale Officers
Rescued from a puppy mill in Western North Carolina, Moxie and Tonks hang around the red carpet office keeping our morale up with their hilarious antics. Moxie is part Shih Tzu and part who-knows-what. She’s very energetic, a high jumper, and loves to be the center of attention. If there’s food around, Moxie is right there waiting for something to drop. Tonks is a Shih Tzu and slid into Donna’s lap after she and Jim had selected Moxie. You might say she insinuated herself into our heart and home. She loves cuddling, and she “talks” to you when you rub her belly. While Moxie is under foot watching our every move, Tonks hangs back comfortably on the couch until she sees something worth getting up for. They both love their new home, hikes in the woods, treats, and red carpets of course!
