It’s no secret that we love Asheville! If you’re coming to our April conference, or if you’ve ever considered visiting this part of the world, this article is for you. Though it seems impossible, we’ve narrowed down our list of 1,000 things, to 5 things we love about Asheville!
Farm to Table Dining and Craft Beer
Asheville is a paradise for foodies and beer connoisseurs. We take things like farm to table food and craft beer very seriously. Sure, you can eat a lot anywhere, but Asheville food and beer is about the experience and quality. We love knowing the farmer who grew the vegetables on our plate and the gal who brewed our beer are locals who might just be sitting at the next table!
Our mild climate and spectacular mountains add up to a truly great experience in the great outdoors! Hiking, rock climbing, tubing, whitewater rafting, ziplining, canyoneering, waterfalls, and scenic drives – the list of things to do outdoors goes on and on! Best of all, when you’re tired at the end of the day, you can sit outside and enjoy the view.
We are called ‘Red Carpet’ for a reason – we love the theatre! And the theatre scene in Asheville is all that we could hope for. From free Shakespeare in the Park performances all summer long, to plays put on by professional actors at our favorite theater, the North Carolina Stage Company, our lives are enriched by Asheville theatre.
One of the great things about Asheville is that you often stumble upon things when you don’t have a plan. Got a few hours to kill and no agenda? Take a stroll downtown! On the spur of the moment, you can pop into an art gallery, or catch some live music. We’ve got several eclectic downtown bookstores to peruse, one of which is dog-friendly and serves chocolate from French Broad Chocolates – another downtown favorite!
We love hiking until our muscles are sore, and then it’s time to relax. If you want an all-day spa experience, The Grove Park Inn and Spa is one of the finest in the USA to lose yourself for an entire day. But we also have salt caves, outdoor hot tubs with mountain views, saltwater sensory deprivation/meditation pools, natural hot springs, and even a foot spa!
